Swarathma is a Bangalore based contemporary Indian folk-fusion band that released its debut album with EMI-Virgin in December 2008, with the backing of Radio City. The sound is contemporary Indian folk, with a fusion of rock, Carnatic and jazz. Most of all, the stage act is unforgettable!
Swarathma went international in October 2008 with a trip to Singapore where they took part in the Sutasi Talent Showcase, a Television Series produced by an Australian production house. They were also chosen to work with acclaimed UK-based producer John Leckie (George Harrison, Muse, Radiohead) on the British Council Soundpad project, who produced 2 tracks for them recorded in Yash Raj Studios. This recognition proves their sound to be international, fresh, earthy and definitely Indian.
